Everyone, and we mean EVERYONE, loves a new bike day!
Generally for us here in the shop, seeing a new bike happens a few times a year and its always quite exciting! The same buzz of ripping the top off the box, a cheeky peak inside, get the lay of the land and then the big reveal! Like a kid at Christmas!
This one we were all a bit excited about as its a sensibly priced, proper bike with race pedigree. A T600 carbon bike which could be easily upgraded with the addition of a set of carbon hoops.
At £2999.99 its a bike which has great value at its fore. Coming in £250 under a lot of its competition for bikes with the same spec, its sure to be a hit with many, and hopefully, for everyone else dimmish the notion that Pinarello are more expensive than everyone else! They really aren’t!! Mimicking its biggest brothers features, the Dogma F, with subtle changes and a less exotic carbon, its true to its Pinarello name in style and ride.
We know blue isn’t for everyone, that’s why there is a red version also! But its lines and geometry copy that of all its F siblings. The ride is true to Pinarello form, stable, confidence inspiring and comfortable, which is something most race bikes struggle to boast! Still Italian threaded bottom brackets which will bring a smile to the face of every mechanic in the land. The bars are lovely to use but again, like with most bikes these days, building with them is never overly a joy! Once finished you can sit back and admire the clean and pleasing aesthetics, but getting 2 brake hoses AND 2 gear cables on any mechanical shifting bike through a hole which wants to only accept 3.9 cables, with always bring a few grey hairs, even a balding head! Obviously we jest, but it can get frustrating.
Once you’ve jumped aboard, all that disappears and it becomes a distant memory! The in store version is as specified by Pinarello. Shimano 105 12 speed mechanical groupset, Shimano wheelset, Most finishing kit. As mentioned on previous posts, all can be changed, upgraded or built to suit. Size 53 in store and ready to test ride when there is a dry day!
