Something that keeps us on our toes here at Scuderia Towers is the customisation on anything in store. Whether its a frame and building it up, tailoring a stock bike to suit or people bringing us bits to throw onto frames and or other parts. As part of the new website and ongoing push to try and improve the social aspect of us here, we will be running a few posts on builds we consider particularly special. The first few posted wont have the photo detail the newer ones from now on will but it may peak the interests of some people and may bore some of you to sleep… its a risk I’ll have to take I suppose.
So, to start it off I thought we’d go with one we have all seen before, but its a bit special in terms of look. Nothing mental on the build itself, it just resonates well with myself and a lot of people we have spoken to. It wasn’t done for everyone to like, that’s the point in Pinarello’s customisation portal, MyWay. You can get on there, create as many as you want and save them in your “garage” for drooling over later or for hoovering over that order button on a sunny day!
So, the boring bits. Craig wanted to have a bit of a showstopper in the shop. Something that turned heads. Something that wasn’t plain and standard. Something that probably wasn’t going to be seen anywhere else! Alan, Neil and Craig all designed a bike each, Neil a fetching pink number, Alan, being a true company boy, incorporated a bit of Scuderia Orange in there and Craig came up with a gold and purple finish. We cast our votes, as expected, we drew, all receiving one vote each! Our own! So Craig pulled rank and picked his own as the final choice.
Built to try and keep it as sensible as a bonkers frame can be, using Shimano Ultegra Di2, Ceramic Speed OSPW cage, Shimano Ultegra C36 wheelset, Most Talon Ultra Bars, Ere saddle and held upright by Continental GP5000 35mm rubber. Full spec list below the photos. WOW!!!
All photos are the same bike, same camera, the paint just changes colour as you move around it and in different light! Just be careful, your partner might think you’ve bought more than 1!!
